Where to ask, and what happens
Ask from anywhere in 1barn
Type a question into the Ask box (⌘K) on any page and press Enter; the answer opens right there in the box. For longer work, like pasting an email, ⤢ takes the conversation full screen. On a phone, Ask is the last tab.
Watch it look things up
Each lookup shows as a line while it happens. Answers link to the records they came from, and it sees only what you can see in 1barn.
Apply what you want
Anything that would change something comes back as a card, a line for each change. Untick what you don't want, edit a message first, then apply; it runs as you. Anything that notifies people is always a card.
Say it the way you'd say it in the aisle.

In Ask 1barn, changes come back for you to apply; nothing changes until you do. The copy button is for pasting into Claude or another AI app with the 1barn connector.

You approve every change.
In Ask 1barn, every change comes back as a card: edit it, apply it, or say not now. In your AI app, each 1barn tool says whether it only reads, changes records, or reaches past 1barn (an email, a notice), so the app can ask before it acts.
It works as you.
Same permissions as the person asking: staff see only what they can already see. A change you apply is made as you, the same as if you had tapped it yourself.
Your data, said plainly.
- On 1barn's AI, questions and the records needed to answer them go to Anthropic. They are not trained on and are deleted within 30 days, unless Anthropic's safety systems flag a policy violation.
- On your own key, they go to the provider your barn chose, Anthropic or OpenAI. With the connector, your AI app's terms apply.
- 1barn deletes a conversation within 3 hours of your last message (sooner if you start a new one) and keeps only usage counts, never the text.

- A question counts once however many lookups it takes; a follow-up is a question too. A question that fails or that you stop doesn't count. Questions are shared by the whole barn and reset on the 1st.
